Through its Rapid Response Department, VOCAL Africa documents, supports and advocates for justice on human rights cases across Africa. Our documented cases include extra judicial killings, femicide, enforced disappearances, police brutality, abduction, gender-based violence and other serious violations targeting individuals, youth, women and communities in general.
VOCAL Africa has responded to dozens of critical incidents in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, providing immediate documentation, family support, media amplification and sustained advocacy for accountability and judicial intervention. Fully aligned with our Access to Justice priority, these cases form the heart of VOCAL Africa’s work, turning individual violations into collective action for systemic change, rights protection and the dignity of African people.
